The expansion and renovation of this first floor mudroom blends thoughtful design, creative reuse, and functional innovation. By shifting an existing side door, we reclaimed unused storage space and tripled the mudroom’s footprint. What was once a small pass-through is now a bright, functional hub with custom built ins, beadboard shaker doors, open cubbies, and a stained white oak bench. Coastal wallpaper, decorative wainscoting, and a new glass door flood the space with light, while widened clearances and double staircase railings ensure accessibility and safety. Cleverly hidden heating vents warm the entire room, making this mudroom as practical as it is welcoming. Every finish was selected for durability and style, creating a space that keeps essentials organized and celebrates coastal charm.
